The official Japanese site for Pokémon Black and White 2 has been updated with screenshots, character art and the first trailer for the upcoming games.

• The trailer announces “New characters make a new story!”
• Two new facilities, one of which appears to be some sort of arena, the second is a film studio shooting a Pokémon-themed action series.
• Two more Pokémon from previous generations are confirmed to appear in the games: Absol and Pelipper.
• Regular trainers are shown to have their own unique animations much like rivals and gym leaders have had: a female Clerk is seen reaching for her Poké Ball.
• A water-themed gym (likely Shizui’s), featuring a lily pad puzzle.
• Akuroma is described by the trailer as “Friend? Foe? A man of mystery”.
• At a certain point in the trailer, the rival is seen confronting a group of mysterious figures in identical uniforms.
• The local Pokédex numbers for a few more Pokémon can be seen in a screenshot: Mareep is #25, Azurill is #30 and Arcanine is #52.

The first images from CoroCoro have started to come. These images showcase the first screenshots of Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 and provide a lot of information.

The first scan (Pages 67-68) shows off, along with the release date of June 23 in Japan, a number of new screenshots, revealing that BW2 are based on the same engine as Black and White. In the upper corners, it shows Pokédex data for Black and White Kyurem. The only varying information appears to be the heights, which are 30 cm different. In addition, in the bottom right corner, it shows that there will be 300 Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex.

The second scan of Page 72 reveals new characters. On the far right are the male and female player characters you get to choose from. In the center is the new rival. On the left are what appear to be the new professor, named アクロマ (Akuroma), as well as two “obvious” (according to the adjacent text) gym leaders, ホミカ (Homika) and シズイ (Shizui).

Page 73 shows off several new areas in Unova, including ヒオウギシティ (Hiougi City), the “starting home of a new adventure!” One image shows the Pokémon Center and Trainer School.

Beyond the movie event sponsors on the left, Page 74 has details on Keldeo, the recently-revealed pony-like Pokémon that will be featured in the latest movie, slated to premiere on July 14 in Japan. However, more importantly, the bottom of the page reveals the pirouette, Meloetta, with its forme-changing abilities.

Pokemon Smash is set to feature Junichi Masuda next week, who will be revealing the first gameplay footage of Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2.
